Be Aware - CSA BASICS

  • Wednesday, May 4, 2011

The federal CSA program continues to be enforced in all states at increasing levels. While we are proud as an organization of our standings in this program there are always opportunities to refine and improve in the interest of safety. We are seeing increasing enforcement of trucks in restricted lanes, seat belt usage and speed for the “Moving Violation” basic.

We are also seeing increased activity with regard to the “Fatigue and Hours of Service” basic – the short description of this is: your logs. Federal law requires and FirstFleet policy supports that if you are driving a commercial vehicle your log must be on the driving line.

In order to provide for a safer highway and to comply with federal and company requirements we ask that you please pay close attention to these details. Stay out of restricted truck lanes, watch your speed and always double check your log before you move the truck.
