Fall Safe Driving Habits

  • Thursday, October 2, 2014
The fall season brings a change of seasons and also different safety challenges for the professional driver. Schools are open again and school buses are around every corner. Children may be running to catch a bus or not paying attention when getting off a school bus so we need to be doubly careful. Darkness sets in sooner each passing day and visibility is consequently reduced. Beware of cars stopped along the highway, animal movement during night time hours, and the occurrence of other drivers dozing off and being in a hurry also increases.

The fall season also starts the holiday season, more traffic, more pedestrians, and more changing weather. With reduced visibility, and more traffic at delivery and pickup locations, the need for our undivided attention to safe driving is paramount for safety. The difference between "aggressive" taking chances driving and "professional" defensive driving, lies between patience and attitude. Safe driving is a full time daily job, please don’t make it your part time practice!
